The previous versions of the 15.6-inch Chromebook that launched in January had slower Intel Core i3-5005U or Intel Celeron 3205U processors. The new version has the Intel Core i5-5200U chip that Acer claims offers the "fastest performance in a commercial Chromebook to date."
Aside from the processor upgrade, the 4.85 pound Acer C910 Chromebook has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of SSD storage inside, along with a battery life of up to 8 hours. There's the option of choosing either an 1920x1080 or 1366x768 resolution display. The new version of the Acer C910 Chromebook will go on sale in April for the starting price of $499.
