APC guber candidate for Lagos state,Akinwunmi Ambode publicised his plans for the women and children of Lagos state if he is elected as the next governor of the state come Saturday 11th of April 2015.
He made 10 promises to the women and children of Lagos State.
Here they are.....
PROMISE 01.
Commit to the full enforcement of the Domestic Violence Law 2007 and open a register of domestic and sex offenders.
PROMISE 02.
Establish a system of gender mainstreaming which incorporates 35% of women in all sectors of government.
PROMISE 03.
Pay attention to recognized women groups and ensure they are involved in our participatory government through regular feedback/strategy sessions.
PROMISE 04.
Use the Lagos Employment Trust Fund as a tool for improving access to finance for women, a critical driver of economic independence and sustenance.
PROMISE 05.
Promote education on child marriages, sexually transmitted diseases and other social ills that impact girl child education and reduce the quality of life for women in Lagos.
PROMISE 06.
As a party, we will enhance the role of Women Leader to ensure it is focused on creating a platform to ensure at least 35% of all elected positions are occupied by women.
PROMISE 07.
Allocate at least 10% of the health budget to maternal mortality and family planning issues.
PROMISE 08.
Enact the right legislation to provide for child care for infants in work places.
PROMISE 09.
Provide viable technological options that reduce the effect of climate change on women and children for example support for the clean cookstove and renewable energy initiatives, which saves women’s lives, money and the environment.
PROMISE 10.
Legislate on at least 35 % of LGA budget for social security and safety nets for the poor, women, elderly and children.
