Opportunity is defined as the chance for advancement, progress or profit.
Couple of days ago,i talked about the--(5 proven ways to sieze opportunities you must try), which showed us the basics of siezing opportunities using King David as a case study- Well today we are going to use King Saul and David as case studies on the subject...... "The regrets/consequences of not siezing an opportunities.
#1. You loose face: Saul did not only loose his dignity as king he also lost his pride as well.
How does it feel to loose face as king? If you ask Saul he'll tell you.
What the Israelites at the time expected was for saul to rise to the occasion and defeat the big guy who defied the armies of the Lord, but he sat down there and did nothing. David on the other hand saw an opportunity that will re-write history and will be remenbered till the end of the world, that a little boy killed a giant with just a mere sling and stones and he siezed the opportunity.
Note this: "Your position will not stand the test of time, what will be remembered of you is your record breaking"
The women sang a song telling Saul that he's lost his relevance (1 Samuel 18:7).
#2. You loose your mind: We all know that the Spirit of God left Saul and was invaded by an evil spirit to torment him, that we know.
But aside that, king Saul lost his mind at the time because of his failure to sieze the opportunity of slaying Goliath.
You see a king is known for his uniqueness,a king is not to be found in a beer parlor and a king is not to think evil against his sobordinate, but Saul sought for a way to kill David. With this we can conclude that he lost his mind.
If you fail to sieze an opportunity and eventually your neighbor does, check your behavior,it is most certain to be that you will loose your mind because of envy(1 Samuel 18:8)(1Samuel 18:21-25).
