Unity is defined as the state or fact of being an undivided entity.
"United we stand,divided we fall" is one saying i love so much. The saying is so true that for there to be a worthwhile achievement or accomplishment,there must be unity.
There are lots of instances of unity in the Bible that proves beyond reasonable doubts that unity can move mountains. Eg, The building of the tower of Babel, The rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, The day of penticost etc.
Now; being that unity is needed for a drastic change,we ought to as humans know some key ingredients that foster unity.
Below are some of the ingredients that foster unity.......
#1. Agreement: Amos 3:3 says: "Can two walk together, unless they agree"
Agreement simply means a mutual understanding between two parties to work together. Unless there is an agreement,unity cannot be achieved and when there is division,one cannot do anything worthwhile.
So therefore,for there to be unity,there must be --- Agreement.
#2. Trust: trust is defined as confidence in or reliance on some person or quality.
People only follow people whom they trust,which is why unity must be centered on trust. Everything in this day and age is built on trust. Think about it, even before one gets married,he/she must first of all trust the other party. Therefore,trust is a vital-active ingredient in fostering unity.
But please note that; "Trust is not bought with money,it is earned".
#3. Faith: Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1).
The purpose of faith in unity is to map out a future for why the unity is fostered at the beginning.
Faith is so important in a relationship that it can almost make the union unbreakable.
With faith in a union,people in such a union live in the future while yet in the present---With faith they can move mountains and open closed doors---faith is therefore the propeller of unity.
#4. Believes: In every union there must be a goal set to be achieved----this is where believe comes to play,the purpose of your union must be accepted by the second party. Ask yourself this this question=="Does this fellow believe in our union?" If there is no 'believe' then i must confess that that union won't stand the test of time.
The humans that constructed the tower of Babel believed that they will reach the heavens to meet God and they laboured tirelessly to achieving that----but not for God who scattered them,they would have achieved their goal.
Believing is what will make your union to stand the test of time: so therefore 'believe!!!'.
#5. Love: Love is defined as an intense feeling of affection and care towards another person.
In a union,love is called the cord/binder. I call it the 'veil'; i call it the veil because it covers all sins and wrongs.
Yes!,offences and errors will come,but the only thing that can hold a union down and together is love.
Love is a vast topic that a page cannot explain,so i will halt here.
This is so you should know that your union of whatever sort cannot stand the test of time without love.
